MISTLETOE BUT NO WINE. CHRISTMAS 2010

Christmas came & went in the blink of an eye this year. It was all a bit different because I broke my own rule & went somewhere else for the big day!! We ended up going to my mum's down in Devon & whilst it was lovely, i missed being at home with my own traditions. Call me a nutter, but i think i'm a bit of a stick in the mud when it comes to Christmas Day! It was odd being pregnant too and missing out on way too much smoked salmon, stilton, pate, brie and champagne! The kids had a fab time & loved staying with Nanny and even found travelling down in the snow on Christmas day exciting!!
The mister bought me some amazing vintage kitchen canisters & had them imported from Texas. I love them so much - and love the idea that some American housewife was using them to bake and make in 1960's America!

Here are some of our Xmassy snaps..... enjoy

Flo got the all important job this year of placing our fairy on our tree!!

It snowed!! This pic was taken at 7am in -9 temperatures!

Dexy starred in his first Nativity and he was a cow!! It was the sweetest thing i ever did see!!

December 04, 2010

WELL IT'S BEEN A WHILE!!

I can't quite believe how long either - APRIL! That seems like a whole life time away and so much has happened. Here's a whistle-stop blog of the last 7 months..... (7 months- sorry, and it will never happen again i promise!!) +BEWARE+ Total & utter photo overload!

...may...
May was lovely - we went down to our secret little family hideaway, Crackington Haven in Cornwall. This is one of the most precious places on earth & it was introduced to us a long time ago by my friend Tom. We've been there twice a year ever since & it's beautiful.

...june...
There are only two words that do and always will remind me of June - and that is Glastonbury Festival. I've been a regular since the summer of '89 when I was only 9 years old and I love it more and more every year. Little did I know back in June, but this was to be my last festival for a while......

It was the fesitvals 40th birthday this year & the sun did not stop shining :)

...july...
Officially the start of our summer - and Dizzy & Icy finished up pre-school. This was a tear-jerking moment for mama, because Dizzy starts big school in September, but Icy still gets to go back for another year! Here's the card we made to say thank-you which we sent with some little handmade jewelry boxes we picked up at Bath's vintage art fair 'It's Darling'
Then we went to stay with Nanny D in sunny old Devon

...august...
August brought with it a major suprise - i found out I was going to be a mama to a new little baby! So with my head spinning, we set about enjoying a relaxing summer. We mainly visited the beaches in North Devon and just relaxed.

...september...
I love September! I love the start of Autumn, i love my birthday and I love the hazy end to the summer. This September was quite sad though, because my baby boy Dizzy Boo started big school :( I must have cried about 400 times at the thought of not having him here with me every day until 3:30 - but he settled in well & loved every minute of it! Here's some pics of the gorgeous chappy all proud in his uniform and some others...

...october...

October = relaxing month! After a term full of getting used to big school chaos, we welcomed half term with open arms! A week off school runs - yay!  We spent some time with our friends who came to visit with their three boys and then we headed down to Devon for a few nights.

...november...

November was a lovely month full of fireworks, bonfires, hot chocolate & toasted marshmallows. We spent a week of it down in Crackington Haven on a little wintery holiday. Total bliss. Here's some of our holiday snaps...
